Our story
Old-school craftsmanship. Fully digital lab.
Manuel Gomez opened Omnitek in 1977 after earning his Certified Dental Technician credential. For more than four decades he held every case to one standard: if it isn’t right, it doesn’t leave the lab.
His son Brenden grew up at the bench, joining the lab at 16. In 2014 he launched Omnitek’s CAD/CAM department, bringing scanning and milling in-house. Today the lab pairs hand-finished artistry with digital precision — and the same family still answers the phone.
- 1977Manuel Gomez, CDT, founds Omnitek Dental Ceramics in San Diego.
- 2014Omnitek integrates 3Shape CAD design software and purchases its first CAD/CAM mill — Brenden’s new CAD/CAM department makes Omnitek a digital lab.
- 2022Asiga 3D printers join the lab to keep pace with a growing volume of digital cases.
- 2023Manuel retires after more than 45 years; Brenden becomes owner and CEO, leading the lab’s second generation.
- 2026After 49 years, Omnitek relocates to central San Diego — putting the lab at the center of all its clients. Today 80% of the lab’s cases arrive digitally, with 20% still on traditional impressions.

Manuel Brenden Gomez
Owner, President & CEO
Brenden joined Omnitek at 16, learning at his father’s bench that excellence isn’t a goal — it’s the minimum. In 2014 he built the lab’s CAD/CAM department, pairing digital precision with hand-finished artistry.
He never loses sight of the patient in the chair: every crown should look natural, fit comfortably, and last. That’s why he works directly with each client, building long-term partnerships grounded in open communication, reliability, and trust.
Brenden’s drive for excellence was also forged on the water, racing sailboats professionally on the international circuit — where excellence is measured by one standard: winning. He did just that, winning his division at the Rolex Big Boat Series two years running — aboard BUD in 2015 and Fox in 2016.
He brings that same competitive edge and standard of excellence to every case.
He married his wife, Jessica Gomez, in April 2025. Avid yachtsmen, Brenden and Jessica cruise Southern California, Mexico, and the Pacific Northwest aboard their yacht, Irlandesa — and at home, they’re happily outnumbered by three beagles.

Our founder’s legacy

Manuel Gomez, CDT, founded Omnitek in 1977 and led the lab for more than 45 years. He retired fully on January 1, 2023, passing the business to his son, Brenden. His standard still guides every case we make. Today Manuel enjoys his family, sailing, and tennis.
